Back to the 90s with SPIDERLAND. Even if their name is more reminiscent of Chicagoan atmospheres, their references are rather to be found in London caverns, more particularly the sounds of the famous label TOO PURE (Th' Faith Healers , Stereolab, Moonshake, Long Fin Killie…).

The sextet was based near Douarnenez, in Brittany, and was composed at the time of singer Morgane Kerisit, singer guitarist Ronan Berréhouc, drummer Cyrille Rozec, singer bassist Carl Kervran, singer guitarist Gilles Colin and singer guitarist Ched Hélias.
The band performed regularly in clubs and other local concert bars and were approached by Diesel Recording, a Brest label (currently Music from the Masses) who offered them to release their first album in 1998.

Concerts and festivals followed together with the beginning of the recording of the second album, but divergences and weariness emerged and Ronan left the band to sail towards African lands, soon followed by Cyrille. The band decided not to continue without Cyrille and Ronan.

The other members of the band started a new band, KAISER PALACE, with the backup of Rolan at the drums, very soon met by Cyrille, then back from the tropics.

Ronan had also returned by then, and he started the band COUDE with singer Dominique Berréhouc.

The desire to play together resurfaced and the band started working together again with the backup of Dominique singing on the new titles. Sadly, Morgane passed away a few years ago and will therefore not be part of this new adventure. As for Ched, he has decided not to go through with the project for personal reasons, which by no means hinders the recording of a new opus for the Parisian label Influenza.

The band is now at work and is refining its “set list”, hoping to see you very soon at one of their gigs. SPIDERLAND is particularly good at giving life to both its oldies and new studio tracks.
